Less than a week until the next novelling November is upon us (eek!). There's no HalloNaNoWeen at Denny's this year however, I'll still participate in a proper, "Writing at Midnight" start in the comfort of my newly-cleaned NaNo headquarters!
Over the past few days, I've been busy getting ready for my third NaNoWriMo. Picking books up off my home office floor, setting up my library in my old craft room, and outlining the plot for the third novel in my trilogy.
I admit, 50,000 words in 30 days is daunting, but I'm up for the challenge of writing about 1700 words a day. For my second novel, I wrote 25K in 2013 so I didn't make it the whole nine yards, but I did finish in 2010. Wahoo! A darn good accomplishment if I do say so myself because it was the longest piece I'd ever written. The key to that success (and will be for 2014, too) was a good outline. I'm a better plotter than pantser. Also, daily discipline, few interruptions, and lots of caffeine and chocolate--not necessarily in that order will get me through the month with a short break for the annual gobble gobble festival.
I'll be tracking my progress on the NaNoWriMo site. Follow along or better yet, join me as a writing buddy because it is good to have company during this adventure. My handle is moxiemuse.
Wish me Buona Fortuna! If you join in the November madness, best wishes to you!
